Now what do you say?
I think everyone should do a higher degree.I appreciate my old job more! I can actually understand the working/application design from a performance perspective in retrospect more.I can see the loopholes.I can visualize the areas where they “must” concentrate in the next few years to stay a leader. I can get a sense of direction and clearly distinguish between what ideas can be implemented and what is actually implementable.
Well the question is not whether everyone should go for a higher degree. It is about how much the importance of work experience is still undermined in India for a higher degree in Technical Education aka Engineering or specifically let me dare to say “Computer Science”.
I may sound immature and naive but ,Is work+study+go back and work for the same firm a very sensible idea at the end of the day.You can really make so much of a difference in an ideal situation.
Now what?
Fair Chance?
sardi zhukham sardard
I burnt my tongue while sipping hot chocolate in the morning. The after sensation still prevails and I hate it …I am craving for a Vicks Inhaler .This sudden crazy weather is drving me crazy. Its winter already.
Dont
I hardly know you so I really don’t care!!!
Golu and other ramblings
Its Navaratri time and I am missing Golu and the associated “Sundal”.Navaratri is always celebrated in a big way in any Iyer household. My mom used to begin the Golu preparation and planning of steps almost one week in advance .When I was a child we didnt even have the ready-made steps so every year during Navaratri time ,Mom and Dad used to go through the big trial and error process of constructing steps with old books, big boxes, bricks and whatever materials were found.Soon the process became much simpler when we got ready-made steps ,but some how the thrill and enthusiasm of building it from scratch is definitely missing. The most interesting part of a Golu decoration was the Park of which I was given the complete responsibility. From the very beginning my Mom had always encouraged me to depict interesting and recent aspects through the Golu Park.My fondest memories of Golu Park involve replicating “Jurassic Park” when I was in 3rd standard.(I think the movie had released then).I had created an artificial waterfall , a similar kind of a bridge like they show in the movie while entering the Jurassic Park,Collected miniatures of all kinds of dinosaurs, classified them.I had created models of aeroplanes and helicopters which I had suspended from the top with white threads which were almost invisible.Every year Golu Park used to be a new theme.Later years I went about depicting Environment and the effects of Pollution (I know now its suddenly starts sounding like a science Project),renewable sources of Energy etc etc.But the best part used to be actually trying to create replica models for all these and going to the library in dad s office to read the “Do it yourself” books to create all these models. My dad used to help me with all the battery and motor operations and the electrical circuitry .Its kinda wierd that I knew all about parallel and series connection much much much before I actually read about it.
Soon parks became a rather low profile thing but still Navaratri used to be a festival which would just change the course of Lifestyle atleast for those ten days.Mom used to drag me to a lot of households and make me sing much to my irritation then and I really miss the “Blouse Piece Barter” that used to happen and all t he confusion associated with it.I still wonder at the talent of most women in optimally distributing and redistributing the Blouse Piece without giving the same blouse piece to the person who gave it to you.Thats not all ,every blouse piece can be classified into three categories of High ,Medium and Low Quality and the Guests into VVIP and VIP.Ofcourse we should not forget the special category of Ladies whom my Mom would have never ever met till that day and would have just met at another Mami’s house when they would have gone for “Vetla Pak” in Tamil or “Haldi Kumkum” in Marathi. My mom would have spoken to that lady for just 2 minutes and would have certified her as “rombo nanna madiri”(very nice types) and would have found her “fit to be invited” to our home aswell.I miss how my mom would pull my hair, oil it and tie it tidily so that I look perfect in a “Pattu Pavadai” and dab the vibudi over my forehead.
The smell of early morning “watered soil” just before the big festive Kolam ,Mylapore trips to buy Golu Bommai and the varieties of Sundal. I remember the precision with which mom used to soak the chick peas and the pulses in water and time the cooker so that the pulses get boiled with the correct hardness/softness.I wish I could tell Mom how easy and fast it is here , especially with these canned Garbenzo Chick Pea which we use
.

I think I am again getting into the mode I was in when I newly arrived into the country.I know I cant allow myself to keep doing this.
__
I am super confused and direction less these days. Its like a complicated web that is getting created around me.So much uncertainty.Trust Issues and Hypocrisy.Performance Pressures and yeah things like folks back at home reminding you every time about your age (like I cant calculate) in every phone conversation.I dont know if I am doing the right thing.Infact I dont even know what I am doing.Criticism at every step . Future looks weird and unpredictable.Leaving a normal perfect world ,I sometimes wonder why do we even take this step?I know now there is now looking back but it just gets a little tuff sometimes.I really miss being myself and I have been really cranky over the past one week. I still am…..May be I just need to come at peace with it ……or Pensieve might help.

Good Morning …Another Week …New Dead Lines …I hope its Sunny Tomorrow
(Yeah its a Pun!!!)
Again…
Mugging begins
So I get to know the worth
Weeks of week long fluctuations
a conversation : malice, sarcasm, few giggles and then a hearty laugh.
Why I cant stand Indian Media these days .
Here is an example how a popular news channel’s website reports news -
“Modi deprives poor Muslim students of scholarship”
while the actual news being
Gujarat is the only state government in the country which is not willing to bear 25 per cent share of the central-sponsored pre matric scholarship scheme for the minorities.
1) How dare they instigate a particular community by creating a headline like the one I mentioned in bold.Minorities include a lot of groups.
2)Scholarship should be based only and only on Performance.
3)What is wrong if a state government actually opposes a move which is going to lead to further stratification of a society already fighting hard to come out of the baggage of the past.
Disclaimer : I am not a blind Narendra Modi supporter.
Mental Note Again
Mental note to ” Trust ! Trust ! Trust ! “
Remembered a Calvin quote -
“These are interesting times. We don’t trust the government, we don’t trust
the legal system, we don’t trust the media, and we don’t trust each other! We’ve
undermined all authority, and with it, the basis for replacing it! It’s like a
six-year-old’s dream come true!”
Dream come true??? Not really !! Not in such baffling times ….
Somethin’ Stupid
Summer Time,Smell of sudden evening showers, random conversation ,a few clicks on the older ,older and oldest buttons.
It was a mistake that happened just a few months back .
.
.
Mistake or just a mistake turning right?
